• What a nightmare! - 06/05/2008

  Everything went too smoothly leading up to the office move to Whiteley. i knew it couldn't last and it didn't.

  The broadband was supposed to be working from Monday and didn't go live until Tuesday afternoon which meant that I had to give the staff the day off on Tuesday as there was no point in them coming in with no internet connection.

  The new phone system was supposed to go in on the Tuesday morning and Pete from 5 Rings Telecom came out to provide us with training. The problem was that BT had messed up and the voice lines weren't active.

  It's a long story but we were finally connected with the outside world today at lunchtime.

  The only thing that stopped me having a complete nervous breakdown was the fact that I didn't have to deal with BT myself. I ordered all my telecoms through 5 Rings Telecom and they were absolutely fantastic. They fought my corner for me and kept me updated at every step of the way. If it had been me dealing with it I would have wasted hours and hours repeating my story to 20 different people and going nowhere. 5 Rings take all of that stress away and I would recommend them for that reason alone. As well as preserving my sanity they have provided me with a brilliant voice over IP system which can grow as my business grows without the need for hugely expensive hardware that will need upgrading.

  So if you're having a problem with BT whether it's getting a new line installed or a broadband installation I'd say give them a call and have a chat. There's every chance that they'll be able to stop you going mad too!
